The COLOR-SKOPAR 50mm F2.2 is a manual focus standard lens optimized for full size VM mount sensors. Cosina lens designers succeeded in reducing the exterior lens barrel length to only 30mm, despite this being a 50mm F2.2 standard lens. High performance optics using 7 elements in 6 groups including 3 elements of anomalous partial dispersion glass achieve excellent optical performance even wide open at F2.2. The minimum rangefinder close focus is 0.7 meter. This 50mm F2.2 lens is compact and lightweight, making this an ideal travel lens.
The Voigtländer COLOR-SKOPAR 50mm F2.2 provides coupled rangefinder focusing on VM rangefinder cameras. The silky feel of the metal helicoid gives the satisfaction of precision mechanical rangefinder focusing. The minimum rangefinder focusing distance is 0.7m (depending upon camera). The 50mm f2.2’s focusing tab is shaped for easy fingertip access, enabling quick and reliable focusing despite its compact size.
With practice, memorizing focusing tab position and the distance scale will allow approximate scale focusing without looking at the lens barrel distance sale. Two exterior finishes are available: black or silver chrome. A compact, straight type lens hood is included. The hood matches the lens barrel and is designed not to block the rangefinder viewing window. With the hood removed, the overall length from the lens mount to filter ring is only an ultra-compact 30 mm. Filter size is the compact and rangefinder popular 39mm.
