This innovative ED glass (Extra Low Dispersion) reduces discolored contours even more than previously used ED glasses. The user gets perfectly coordinated and brilliant colors. Newly developed for the EDX 7x42, the PHC140 phase correction coating prevents 99 percent of all unwanted wave optical effects and thus prevents even the slightest blurring.
With the EDX 7x42 device, the optical image works at the maximum resolution that can be reproduced according to the current state of the art. This is guaranteed by the special DDlucid coating, with which the Schmidt-Pechan roof prism is supplemented with two roof surfaces. This coating from the Japanese photo industry is a further development of the well-known and proven ELR coating (Extra Low Reflection). DDlucid is one of the most effective binocular coatings. Currently, only premium binoculars have a similarly sophisticated coating.
