The goal was to create a light and practical binoculars that also impresses with its optical properties. With the help of the new Lux-HR 8x25 "Pocket" ED, this goal has clearly been achieved. The Lux-HR "Pocket" ED is so compact that it fits in any coat pocket, no matter how small. Despite the robust magnesium tube, this binoculars weighs less than 300 g. The optics of the new compact class have a bright and clear image that is convincing even in low ambient light. The Lux-HR "Pocket" ED combines a light and compact design with brilliant optical properties! Binoculars are not only an ideal travel companion, but are also suitable for hiking, nature observation or events.
As with all binoculars in the Lux-HR series, so-called Field Flattener lenses were used in the pocket version - an absolute novelty for binoculars in this price category. Field-Flattener lenses are special lens elements inside binoculars that compensate for the curvature of the field, creating an almost flat image. As a result, lines and edges naturally bent by the curvature of the lens become straight again. The Field-Flattener lenses have an improved DDlucid coating, a further development of the ELR coating (Extra Low Reflection). DDoptics DDlucid is currently one of the most effective binocular coatings.
Currently, only premium binoculars have a similarly sophisticated coating. The Schmidt-Pechan roof prism is coated with phase. In combination with the dielectric mirror, the phase correction coating provides very high color saturation and contrast, as well as maximum brightness. ED full light chromatography reduces the color of the background illumination and guarantees clear contours.
Rubber reinforcement with a specially roughened surface (Soft Touch Layer) guarantees optimal grip and anti-slip - even when wet. The bridge has an ergonomically shaped recess for easy finger placement. Thanks to the slim and compact design, the binoculars fits perfectly in the hand and enables accurate observation. The adjustable eyecups are made of high-strength metal alloy. The rubber coating on the eyecups also protects the lenses from damage when used on rough terrain. Of course, Lux-HR pocket binoculars are also completely waterproof and protected against internal condensation.
